New England Seascapes

As a native New Englander, I feel a special connection with the sea and all it contains. These images evoke historical, nautical and even fanciful subjects. Many are based in historical fact and location. These images are available not only as prints but also as faithful reproductions on canvas.

Series Homard

This is my series of many real and unique lobsters that have been caught primarily in New England waters. These images are available not only as prints (with and without full descriptions as part of the print) but also as faithful reproductions on canvas. You'll be amazed what remarkable creatures lobsters are and how beautiful they can be.

Fanciful and Fun

These images will remind anyone of a certain age who lived on or visited the South Shore of Boston of the fun and beauty seen in everyday life from Paragon Park on Nantasket Beach to the serene Cohasset Common. These images are available not only as prints but also as faithful reproductions on canvas.

ABOUT US

Hi, my name is David Alexander and I have spent my life creating art that celebrates my New England roots. As a young man I developed my love of painting under the wing of Mildred Justice, an award winning artist, at her studio in Hingham, Massachusetts. I then went on to study fine art and photography at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston.

All of my paintings have been created in my studio and are faithful images of real places/things, along with some fanciful creations (see my Fanciful View of Venice). Closer to home, my New England Seascapes illustrate the sheer raw beauty typically found in this part of the world.  My ‘Series Homard’ celebrates the magnificent natural beauty of our own New England lobsters, their stunning diversity is faithfully reproduced in glorious detail and can be bought individually or as a set.
